SS8SIGNAL

Signal

Draw a wave, see the sine waves it is made of, change them, and play the result.

Draw a wave

Draw one cycle on the grid, or start from a shape. It is read as a sum of up to 32 sine waves.

Left to right is one cycle. The ends are joined for you so it loops without a click. The engine note on the pit wall is the V6 shape.

Harmonics

Fewer harmonics, softer sound. On a square wave, watch the corners: the wiggles that appear there are the Gibbs ringing, and they never quite go away however many you add.

Play it

C4 to C5

Press a key, or A W S E D F T G Y H U J K on your keyboard (C4 to C5), Z and X for the octave. Esc stops everything. Sound starts only when you press a key, and the volume starts low.
